The group had put on their walking boots to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, but had been unable to complete it while it was light and Cave Rescue had to bring the group down safely after locating them above Buck Head.

People heading for the hills in their walking boots and waterproofs in the coming months may note that it will issue an update to its initial daily forecast at 13.30 GMT, instead of 19:30 GMT at present.
Spokesman Andy Ross explained to Grough: "This is done every winter as an aid to safe decision making for hillwalkers and climbers, allowing for earlier forward planning during the winter months."north face denali
As well as the main update, there will be amendments to the forecast as the day goes on, he noted.
The information service covers eight different areas of upland across the UK.

It is to spend ￡100,000 over two years to tackle the issue of 4x4s and trail bikes, with a range of measures including more traffic regulation orders to keep such vehicles away from certain locations and giving encouragement to the public to report illegal activities. cheap north face
The funds will also help employ an office holder with a dedicated role of dealing with the matter, as well as paying for legal work.
National park audit, resources and performance committee chair Chris Pennell said: "We want people to enjoy this much-loved landscape for the benefits of recreation but in ways that don't harm the environment."
